I grew up in this church and went to sunday school and church but from an early age I felt assurance from going passed my mum and dads bedroom door every night and watching them kneeling to pray however as I came into my late teenage years I realised my need of the saviour through two good friends from my school days and having attended a mission in the Christian Workers Union Hall I became a Christian. I have tried to make a difference in church life sometimes failing miserably. I was greatly influenced by our former Clerk of Session Willie Gilmour who in my eyes was a great encourager. Of recent times in church life I can see God making such a change in peoples lives and it is my prayer that more and more within our church family will trust in him as their own and personal saviour.

I was brought up in a Christian home and from the age of five was always present at Sunday School and Church. As a young boy I enjoyed Sunday School including the exam at the end of each year. Over the years into my late teens I continued to have a keen interest in the Church and God. People looking at my life may well have thought that I was already a Christian. However, the reality was that despite my Christian activities I was lost and blind to the truth of the Gospel of Christ. Then a mission came to Town and I was asked to come along. I really enjoyed the mission because it was great fun getting the bus out to the barn each night and you were always made very welcome. But then one night God spoke to me and made me realise how lost I was and that He was calling me unto Himself. So that night I asked God to forgive me for all my sins and accepted Jesus as Saviour and Lord of my life. By God’s grace I was saved and destined for Heaven. The Bible says:

I read this out loud at home and we enjoyed your testimony especially the bit at the end about reading it quickly. We didn't test the theory but I doubt we would have got burnt.
