Down the cliff road to the lakeshore but "that was nothing compared to the journey on the lake" Very choppy and only went because of new boat. (Clinics at Zunga and Tcharo have no roads and can only be reached from the lake by motor boat, which takes a 0.75 hour and 2.25 hours, respectively, from Mlowe). Arrives at Tcharo soaked from 'spray'. Called at Zunga and met Grace etc. Lorna is finally doing some training tomorrow!!
The Curry family are being spoilt at home by Lorna's mum and by those who call bearing gifts - It looks like a BBQ and Muffins for tea - thanks to all.
Well in traditional Malawian Style the tuesday input from Lorna will take place on Wednesday!! Though the presence of a few Scottish Doctors was partly the cause of that.
Lorna has been treating a number of patients one in particular is responding well and now able to use crutches, a number of patients very ill including one child - Pray for Maureen on call tonight. Lorna and Maureen are invited for tea with Una tomorrow night. A trip down the lake to Zunga etc by boat is planned for Thursday. I am looking forward to hearing news of the clinic where the team worked in 2006. JAC Lorna and Maurren have had a good day at the hospital. Early start and tiring day as meeting lots of people for the first time. Pray for one little girl in particular who is very sick.
Claire is enjoying the work with the Children in the nursery school at Bally-kajoni and is helping Chief Allen learn new computing skills. On the Physio side Lorna is doing a training session with some staff tomorrow - there is some equiptmant available at the hospital and there are patients lorna has alread been able to work with. JAC |
